Losing Control of My Inner Monologue

Get This Girl Some Help

First she checks into, and then out of, rehab. (And boy, it sounded like a nice one!)

Now, Britney does this.

If this isn't all some sign that she's just a touch off these days, then maybe her cries for attention and help need to be a little more undertstated and subtle for someone to take them half-seriously.

I'm beginning to think I should've put her in my Dead Pool this year instead of Nicole Ritchie.

What's with all of these self-destructive, way addicted, young celebs?

  • Okay, here is my theory on Britney. Having had post-partum depression I can vouch that it's something most Moms probably get to some degree, but a percentage of those who get it do NOT talk about it. They are embarrassed, in denial and don't want anyone to think they can't handle things. So I'm quite certain Brit is having some of that going on. Second, she is in the process of divorcing and battling over custody of her kids (who I have no doubt that she loves but she just is a young kid in her 20's who got married too fast and had two kids too fast). Not a reason to run around without underwear but still... And then third she has dyed her hair over...and over...and over. I've treated my hair a lot and I know from personal experience that it can get damaged. Her hair probably looked like a rat's nest and was beyond repair. So you add up the fact that she's depressed (chemically likely, not clinically) and then going through a divorce, dealing with it by partying since she's been pregnant for two years, and her hair looks like straw.

The girl needs some help, for sure but in a weird sort of way I feel bad for her.

  • Sure, that could be. But she was on this path well before she had both of her kids, or so the tabs have displayed time and time again. One could only HOPE that she has PPD because then she could receive treatment--as opposed to just being self-destructive for no reason aside from rebellion, self-promotion, and selfishness.

  • I don't recall her partying and doing anything bad during pregnancy though. At least she had the decency to quit smoking and partying, even if for a time, to give her unborn children a chance to be physically healthy.
